One Day Left!

There's just one day to go, now and we hope you're as excited as we are! We're happy to announce the speakers and entertainment for the rally and afterparty!

The rally will have a host of inspiring speakers discussing different aspects of violence against women. There will be speakers from the Centre Against Sexual Assault, Women's Domestic Violence Service and Victorian Women with Disabilities Network, as well as academic Christine Craik (RMIT). AUSLAN representatives will be interpreting at the rally and afterparty performances, and the Wurundjeri Council will be providing a Welcome to Country.

Celebrating women's strength and survival, the afterparty at Trades Hall from 8:30pm will showcase the talent of some of Melbourne's hottest female performers: Ebony, Jan Cooper, Katie Pash, Jemima Jones, Egg and DJ Collective and LadyFingers. Food Not Bombs will be dishing up free vegan treats at Trades Hall.

Finally, for anyone who doesn't have a tshirt and wants one, we'll be selling them before the rally at the State Library.

We hope to see you all there with everyone you know!

How to Help

As we get closer to October the 29th, there's a lot of things to get done - making tshirts, banners and stickers. Putting up posters. Making sure as many people as possible know about the rally. Here's a few ways you can help:

1) Tell everyone you know! There are posters (also in black and white) and fliers available for you to print off and share around.

2) Come help us print tshirts and make badges: Wednesday the 14th in the RMIT Womyn's Room from 4pm.

3) Come help us paint banners: Wednesday the 14th in the Monash Women's Room from 11am.

4) Join the Facebook Group and follow us on Twitter

5) Come along to the organising collective meetings, 5pm on Tuesdays at the RMIT Womyn's Room.

6) Volunteer to help make the food for the Reclaim the Night post-march function, before the event on Thursday the 29th of October (send us an email if you're interested in helping out).
