Update

Thanks to everyone who came along to the trivia night the other week! It was great to see so many fabulous feminists and we've raised a lot of money to fund what should be an amazing Reclaim the Night! We're looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

We know that some of you weren't able to get tshirts in your sizes - we're printing up some more, so we should have plenty for everyone at the rally.

Reclaim the Night is getting closer, and we're still on the lookout for ideas about how to make it as wonderful as possible. If you have suggestions or would like to get involved, come along to our organising meetings at the RMIT Womyn's Room on Tuesdays at 5pm, or send us an email/comment.

Finally, we have a flier advertising the rally and march ready to go. It's available here. Do print it off and hand it out - at uni, at work, at home.

  2. 1 in 3 females in Australia are assaulted within their lifetimes. This stat doesn't even include the women who [understandably] can't/won't/don't conceive of their boyfriend's/husband's/partner's behaviour as assault. As in, having sex when they don't really want to, feeling obliged to, and feeling uncomfortable to even say they didn't want to, led alone rape or assault or something.

Maybe walking down Swanston st one night a year in a big group isn't going to change it, but I think it will. I think that if it doesn't, for my mental health I can't stand by doing nothing. Lacking something else, this is my choice of how to take action.

    Thank you for organising it.
